On-Device Processing
Every calculation Helix performs — baseline estimation, strand scoring, Helix Index calculation, confidence assessment — happens entirely on your iPhone. No data is sent to any server operated by Eventide Heron or any third party.
No Account Required
Helix does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or authenticate with any external service. There is no user profile. There is nothing to log into.
No Cloud Storage
Your health data is never uploaded to a cloud service. Your scores, baselines, and history are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. When you delete the app, your local data is deleted with it.
Apple Health
Helix reads health data from Apple Health with your explicit permission. You control which data types Helix can access through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Alpha Helix.
Helix requests read access to the health data types it uses for scoring. It does not write health data back to Apple Health except for data you generate directly within the app.
Apple's own privacy policies govern how Apple Health stores and protects your data on your device. Helix's access to that data is governed entirely by the permissions you grant through iOS.
What Is Stored Locally
Helix stores the following on your device:
- Your calculated Helix Index scores and strand scores by date
- Your personal signal baselines (the EWMA values, not the raw readings)
- Your score history for the History view
- Your app preferences (display mode, notification settings)
Helix does not retain raw HealthKit readings. The app reads what it needs during a calculation, processes it immediately, and stores only the output.
No Advertising
Alpha Helix contains no advertising and no advertising SDK. Your health data is not used for advertising purposes in any context. Eventide Heron does not sell or license user data to any party.
One-Time Purchase
Alpha Helix is a one-time purchase with no subscription. There is no ongoing commercial relationship that creates an incentive to collect or monetize your data.
